Candlemas - Imbolc - Ground Hog Day

In the Christian Calendar, 40 days after the birth of Jesus when Jesus was presented at the temple by Joseph and Mary and "they" were purified. The cross quarter day midway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox celebrated in Irish, Celtic, Wiccan and Pagan traditions. Secularized in the United States as Ground Hog Day.

The first day of Spring in the Northern hemisphere to those who understand the distinction between events and periods. Corroborated by the celebration of Midsummer on June 24th (or the summer solstice).
