Drupal is a content management system (CMS) for building websites. It is used to build and maintain the one you are visiting right now. There are thousands of content management systems, I counted 1700 before giving up. Selecting among them is a well defined scientific process. I didn't know how to do that so I employed a less precise and more intuitive method. Sir Timothy likes Drupal. The Queen of England likes Timothy. Rather like falling in love on a blind date over tea and crumpets. Drupal derives from druppel which derives from drop which is a misspelling of dorp which means village in Dutch. Close enough for me. We hope to throw some decent virtual parties in this virtual village. You are all invited. If you become as enamoured with Drupal as we have, you may eventually want to make love with your own copy. (We are rather protective of our particular instance of Drupal so be careful what you touch.) Drupal runs well under XAMPP on Windows systems and Ubuntu on Linux.
