Windows XP Dial-Up Wizard Walk-Through
This tutorial describes in detail how to connect your Windows XP computer to LSNet for the FIRST TIME using the Windows XP Dial-Up Connection Wizard. It is intended for new customers, or current customers who are trying to connect a new machine to LSNet for the FIRST TIME.

Start your computer and wait for it to finish loading windows XP.

Go to start->Control Panel

Click on "Network and Internet Connections". If your Control Panel view is different from our picture, you can click "Switch to Category View" to have views as shown below.

Scroll down to the bottom of this screen and click on "Network Connections".

Click on "Create a new connection." This will launch the Connection Wizard.

Click Next.

Click on "Connect to the Internet" Make sure a dot appears next to it. This means that is selected.

Click "Set up my connection manually" then click "Next."

Click "Connect using a dial-up modem" and click "Next."

Set the connection name to "LSNet" and click "Next."

Pick the local dial up number closest to you from this map which lists our phone numbers accross the USA. Do not include the area code. The number shown in the following example is for subscribers in Galax, VA. Click "Next" when you have entered an appropriate local access number. A non-local access number will result in toll charges billed to your telephone service.

Enter your LSNet Username and Password. Look closely at the username that you entered. It should look like an email address. If your username is myuser, then your username on this screen should look like myuser@lsbasic.net (if you have an economy account) or like myuser@lspro.net or myuser@ls.net (if you have unlimited service). Make sure the firewall is off. Click Next.

Check the "Add a shortcut" and hit "Finish."
