Writing a story for LSNet
- To publish anything you must register as a user - click
"Request Account" on the home page. Your password will be emailed to the address you enter. - Accelerate your request by sending an email to webmaster@ls.net. The script-kiddies hammer us with account requests and your email will help us find yours in the pile.
- When you receive your password, enter your user name and password in the log in box on the home page.
- Once you log in, you will see a new menu on the left. Click "User Account", Edit, and enter your preferred password twice. You can upload a picture if you like.
- Click "Create Content", Story. Stories float through the home page with no particular place in the Menu
- Enter a "Title". This is your first chance to get the reader's attention.
- Tell your story in the "Body". The first part of your story will appear as a "teaser" - you second chance to get the reader's attention. If you prefer HTML to the WYSIWYG editor, click "disable rich-text". The WYSIWYG editor takes some getting used to, try writing your story first, then go back and highlight parts and apply the tools in the menu.
- If your story contains advanced HTML, you should choose "Full HTML" under "Input Format"
- The rest of the options are optional. If you figure out how to use them, that should make a story in itself.
- When your draft is complete, click "Preview" or "Submit" if you are content.
- Then wait. The webmaster will review your story. If you are impatient, send an email to webmaster@ls.net (or use "Contact" in the menu).
Remember the success of your story can be measured in the number of people who act on it or form their own version and pass it on.
